Upcoming Migration of .AU Domains to New Registrar - August 2025

We’re upgrading the management of our .AU domain portfolio to provide a better, faster, and more secure experience for all customers.

What’s Changing?

On August 21, 2025, all .AU domains (including .com.au, .net.au, .org.au, .id.au, and .au) currently registered with either:
  • Domain Directors Pty Ltd trading as Instra, or
  • Key-Systems GmbH
will be automatically transferred to our new accredited registrar: Web Address Registration Pty Ltd.\

Why Are We Making This Change?

We’re consolidating our domain services under a single registrar to improve the experience for our customers. Key benefits include:
  • Enhanced security and performance for your domains
  • Simplified systems for greater efficiency and reliability
  • Faster access to new features and improvement

What Do I Need to Do?

No action is required.
The transfer will occur automatically and won’t affect how you manage your domain(s). You can continue managing them as usual via the client portal. All DNS settings, renewal schedules, and domain configurations will remain the same.

To ensure a smooth transfer, we recommend avoiding any changes to your domain(s) or DNS settings within 72 hours of the migration date (August 21, 2025).

What If I Don’t Want My Domain(s) Migrated?

If you prefer not to participate in this transfer, you can opt out by transferring your domain(s) to another registrar at least 7 days before the scheduled migration.
